Dr. JoAnna Ubiwa, is your dedicated partner on the journey of personal transformation. With a diverse background that combines her Jamaican and Nigerian heritage with a New York upbringing, Dr. Ubiwa understands the complexities faced by individuals of color and celebrates their diversity.
Dr. Ubiwa earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Rhetoric & Communication from the University of Richmond. She then completed a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology at Loyola University and earned her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
As the founder of her therapy practice, Dr. Ubiwa is committed to empowering individuals and couples to achieve their goals of growth and transformation. Her extensive experience encompasses a variety of settings, including outpatient and community mental health services, public schools, a college counseling center, and a hospital, allowing her to bring a wealth of knowledge and insights to her practice.
Dr. Ubiwa specializes in helping couples and individuals navigate relationship conflicts to enhance their connections with others. Her areas of expertise include individual and couples counseling, depression, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and navigating infidelity. She is passionate about guiding her clients toward healthier relationships and fostering their personal development.

Dr. Ubiwa has a wealth of experience teaching psychology at the collegiate level, having been a professor at the Chicago School of Psychology and Loyola University MD.
Dr. Ubiwa has substantial involvement on the Executive Board of two nonprofit organizations focusing on mental health access also highlights her commitment to making a positive impact.
